Identification des communautés anglophones du Québec : approche populationnelle dans le cadre de l’évaluation des disparités de santé associées à l’infarctus du myocarde
Abstract
The authors point out that there is very little information available to study health disparities between linguistic communities in Quebec. Their study proposes a method to classify Quebec’s communities according to the linguistic portrait of the population. The use of geocoding based on place of residence to associate census data with medical information then makes it possible to study the relationship between language and health, illustrated in their study by a comparison (khi square) of the treatments and follow-ups of myocardial infarction cases in a population health context. The authors conclude that this method identifies the most important disparities between linguistic groups, that is, those related to revascularization rates.
