A socio-demographic analysis of the state and evolution of the English-speaking non-Montreal area population in the 1970s. Within a socio-demographic perspective, the author examines the changes in the size of the English mother-tongue population between 1971 and 1978, its geographical distribution, its age-structure, its religious composition and the migratory currents which influenced its composition and demographic stability.
