Abstract |
An examination of the war-related poetry of E.J. Pratt (1882-1964), F.R. Scott (1899-1985) and P.K. Page (1916-2010). Scott was a Montreal poet, lawyer and social activist whose anti-war pacifist views of the 1930s changed during the bombing of Britain. His poetry of the 1940s, according to the author, viewed the war as a defence of Western civilization.
