An account of the trial of Captain Daniel Disney who, in 1767, was tried for the 1764 attack in Montreal on Thomas Walker, a merchant and justice of the peace, who strongly opposed the billeting of British troops in private residents. On December 6, 1764, a group of men, believed to be from the British garrison, attacked Walker and chopped off his ear. Four members of the garrison were charged and acquitted in 1765. The case was re-opened in 1766 and six other men, including Disney, were charged. The trial of Disney in 1767 resulted in his acquittal.
