Abstract |
The Montreal-born Ghitta Caiserman-Roth (1923-2005) began her art career at the age of thirteen, when she received an honourable mention in the Annual Spring Exhibition of the Art Association of Montreal. Caiserman attended Parson's School of Design in New York City from 1939 to 1943, where she graduated with a post-graduate scholarship, and the American Artists’ School, and the Art Students League in 1943. In 1947, she and her then husband, Alfred Pinsky, opened the Montreal Artists School with artists Barbara Eckhart and Harold Goodwin.
