Title |
William Hyman: marchand exportateur à Grande-Grève
|
Abstract |
Anglo-Norman capital from the Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey controlled the Gaspé fishery in the 19th century. Most of this capital was used to produce dried cod for the Mediterranean markets. The authors study William Hyman's company, based in Grande-Grave, to illustrate the model of relations between merchants and fishermen for 150 years in Gaspé.
