Title
A History of Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal
Abstract
The first Anglican church in Montreal built specifically as Christ Church was opened on Notre Dame Street in 1814, although an Anglican ministry first began in the city in 1760. The present Christ Church Cathedral on Saint Catherine Street and Union avenue was completed in 1859 and consecrated in 1867. The neo-Gothic structure was designed by British architect Frank Wills. The author includes biographies of Montreal Anglican bishops and some leading members of the Christ Church community to 1940.
