| Abstract |
A study of twenty-six itinerant photographers who plied their trade in the southwestern part of the Eastern Townships, between Stanstead and Sherbrook, in the nineteenth century. The author retrieved information on these photographers from an analysis of newspapers published at the time, specifically the Sherbrook Gazette and Eastern Township Advertiser, the Canadian Times, and the Stanstead Journal.
