Abstract |
The author examines five poems found in three Montreal poetry magazines (La Relève, La Nouvelle Relève, and Northern Review) and determined that, expressed in different forms, all the authors conveyed the same ideology of the times. Three of the poems were: F.R. Scott's "Was"; Irving Layton's "Mortuary"; and A.J.M. Smith's "Bird and Flower."
