McGill Medicine, Vol. 1: The First Half Century, 1829-1885
|
| Abstract |
The story of McGill University’s medical school from its opening in 1829 through to "the Osler years" (1874-1885). The authors point out the slowness of the school in adapting to change in the nineteenth century, until William Osler instilled a new approach to medical education at McGill. This study is also an examination of the evolution of scientific medical education in Lower Canada.
