A Tale of Two Cities: John Clark Murray’s Search for the Industrial Kingdom of God
|
Abstract |
An examination of the published and unpublished writings of McGill University philosopher John Clark Murray (1836-1917). The author studies the changes in Murray’s social philosophy. Murray’s views evolved from classical political economy to cooperative moral economy, in part through his observation of industrialism in Scotland and Canada, and his experience of denominational, national and university politics.
