Abstract
A history of the public finances in the colony of Quebec, from the establishment of a civil government in 1763 under the orders of the Royal Proclamation to the adoption of the Constitution Act in 1791. The person in charge of the public finances was the Receiver General. The author details the history of the colony's public finances and how the individuals appointed as Receiver Generals fulfilled their mandates.
