La question constitutionnelle chez les responsables politiques québécois, 1985-1991 : un long désenchantement
|
Abstract |
The author examines the evolution of the positions taken by Quebec provincial politicians on the constitutional question between December 1985, when Robert Bourassa's Liberal government was elected, and June 1991, when Bill 150, a law providing for a referendum on sovereignty for Quebec, was passed. More specifically, she examines the representational struggles waged by the political leaders of the various Quebec political parties (PLQ, PQ, Equality Party) who intervened directly during debates in the National Assembly, parliamentary commissions and the Bélanger-Campeau Commission. The four elected members of the Equality Party, an Anglophone rights group, voted against Bill 150.
