Abstract
On November 24, 1899, The Royal Trust Company opened for business on Place D'Armes in Montreal. Ogilvie, William Macdonald, and Donald Smith (Lord Strathcona) as President. In 1901, the Royal Trust began its expansion beyond Montreal, opening an office in Toronto.
