Title
Revaluing Mordecai Richler
Abstract
The author notes that Montreal novelist Mordecai Richler's (1931-2001) literary intentions included such areas as "home," satirical impulse, and construction of human morals. The author concludes that the extent to which Richler realized his declared intentions and the degree to which he was able to make them compliment one another are appropriate gauges for a critical assessment of his principal novels.
