Abstract |
The Montreal firm of Forsyth, Richardson and Company acquired an interest in the North West Company in 1804, but later operated in opposition to the fur trading company. The author includes biographical notes on John Forsyth (1762-1837) and his cousin John Richardson (c. 1754-1831), as well as genealogical notes on the Forsyth family dating back to 1687.
