La reconnaissance sociale d'une pratique médicale marginale : l'homéopathie à Montréal, 1844-1904
|
Abstract |
The author sets out to prove that, in Quebec, the homeopathic movement presented itself as modern and scientific, and was part of the more general movement toward the social recognition of professional medicine. Most of the early practitioners of homeopathic medicine in the province were Anglophones. The Montreal Homoeopathic Association was incorporated in 1865, and the Montreal Homoeopathic Hospital was founded in 1894.
