Abstract |
The story of French Québec nationalism from the late 1960s to the present day. The director shows how this nationalism was gradually transformed from a progressive and “open to the world” current under René Lévesque to a much more narrow conservative current under François Legault, a nationalism centred on the “historical Francophone majority” by using such restrictive anti-immigrant / anti-English Quebec laws as Bill 21 and Bill 96.
