|
Abstract |
Ornithologist Lewis McIver Terrill (1878-1968) stressed the need to do something about the dwindling numbers of birds in Montreal. In 1917, he became the first president of the Province of Quebec Society for the Protection of Birds (PQSPB). The PQSPB was instrumental in having Montreal's Mount Royal Park and the two Mount Royal cemeteries designated as bird sanctuaries.
