Abstract |
An outline of General James Murray's attitude towards the English-speaking merchants and the French Canadians in Quebec following the Conquest. The author contends that Governor Murray assumed that the French Canadians might be expelled from Quebec, as the Acadians had been from Acadia, because of pressure brought to bear on the British government by the merchants.
