Abstract |
Francesco Di Feo, Giovanni Adamo and Salvatore Martire are three 80 year-olds comrades, originally from three different regions of Italy, who were active in trade union and left-wing politics in Italy and Quebec. Francesco, who immigrated to Montreal in 1958, worked in construction and was active in the Confédération des syndicats nationaux. Giovanni, who arrived in Montreal in 1959, founded and chaired the FILEF (Italian Federation of Workers, Emigrants and Families) for several years. Salvatore arrived in Quebec in 1971, an avowed communist in Italy and Montreal.
