Abstract |
An exploration of Montreal-area Korean immigrant parents' attitudes toward helping their children maintain Korean as their heritage language. Data was collected from nine Korean immigrant parents who had a child between the ages of 6 and 18 in 2005. The parents were asked about attitudes toward heritage language and cultural identity maintenance for their children, and attitudes toward Korean language, community and churches. The authors found that the parents were very positive toward their children's heritage language maintenance.
