Abstract |
The North West Company was a Montreal-based fur trading business that existed between 1779 and 1821. Its founders were Benjamin Frobisher, Joseph and Simon McTavish, Robert Grant, Nicholas Montour, Patrick Small, William Holmes, and George McBeath. In 1821 the company merged with its rival, the Hudson's Bay Company.
