Title
Dawson College & Concordia University : La ‘Louisianisation’ du centre-ville de Montréal
Abstract
The author criticizes the acquisition by anglophone educational institutions of francophone heritage buildings in downtown Montreal. The author is specifically critical of Concordia University’s acquisition of the Grey Nuns building in 2003, and Dawson College’s acquisition of the mother house of the Congrégation de Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Pasteur. It is the author’s belief that these English-language educational institutions are attracting too many francophone and allophone secondary students who wish to study in English.
