Title
Les Québécois dont la langue est flottante et la mobilité linguistique
Abstract
The author claims that the measurement of linguistic mobility between French and English, in Quebec, is subject to criticism, due not only to the way mother-tongue and home-language are stated by persons enumerated, as well as to the method used by Statistics Canada to manage these data. The author argues that some surprising aspects of linguistic mobility come out of this process. He analyzes some of these intriguing results and presents a minimal estimate of linguistic mobility. The author thinks that "linguistically floating individuals" should be put aside in the analyses.
