Little Histories: Modernist and Leftist Women Poets and Magazine Editors in Canada, 1926-56
|
Abstract |
A study of women poets and editors and their roles in the production of modernist and/or leftist little-magazine cultures in Canada. Includes a chapter on P.K. Page (1916-2010) and Miriam Waddington (1917-2004), both associated with the Montreal Group of poets. Page was part of the Montreal group that founded the literary journal Preview (1942) and its successor, Northern Review (1945). Waddington wrote a critical study of Montreal poet A.M. Klein (1970), and edited John Sutherland: Essays, Controversies and Poems (1972), Klein's Collected Poems (1974) and Canadian Jewish Short Stories (1990).
