Title
L'émergence du projet d'unilinguisme : Archéologie de la question linguistique québécoise
Abstract
The author points out that as part of Quebec's Quiet Revolution, the idea of French unilingualism was considered an essential element towards the modernization of the province. She examines some of the ideological foundations of the idea of unilingualism which took shape in Quebec at the end of the 1950s and, she argues, was responsible for a veritable social and political revolution, the epilogue to which would be the adoption in 1977 of the Charter of the French language (Bill 101).
