Abstract |
In 1898, Ernest Rutherford (1871-1937) agreed to accept the position as Macdonald Professor of Physics at McGill University. The author discusses the reasons Rutherford accepted the post in Montreal, where he remained until 1907. In 1908 Rutherford was awarded a Nobel Prize for work he mainly pursued at McGill.
